Don't get me wrong, shouting is fine... and I get it. Yes, I am aware of the whole race/racism thing about my people being too loud, and the whole sex/misogyny thing about, women being shrieky or shouty. That's not where I'm coming from. I've been onstage, and I can't judge too harshly; once you get up there in front of the people, and the juices start flowing, it becomes very easy to get too loud, or play too fast, or forget when to shut up. All that in mind... if the audio is distorting like an overdriven guitar*, you need to give that microphone a little room to breathe! *If the venue doesn't have a monitor system worth a shit, or is missing competent hands at the sound board, then it becomes way easier to lose track of yourself and put too much into the mic for the PA system to handle. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that it's probably pretty likely that a place as famous as the Cellar is set up well enough that the performer can hear if they're too loud for clear audio.

Exactly! I'm half white and hispanic from a town called Navasota Texas. The whole town is very low income, mostly trailer homes and run down houses that get passed down. I had a leaky ass trailer that if a storm came to town we would have stay in a motel not a nice hotel it was a shitty motel with drug abusers everywhere. I know where I come from and being half white going through struggles growing up especially after my dad passed when i was 5. My mom had to support 2 boys all alone with dead end jobs. It's so hypocritical that all blacks think they're the only ones that grew up in a shitty town and a run down house.

    4. Madison Alexa
      Madison Alexa
      2 ամիս առաջ

@Stevo1361 Are you fr man? Did you really just pull a “if racism, why obama president?” You came on a comedy video to “disprove racism” or something? The white privilege that even homeless people have affords them more luxury than you know. To SIMPLIFY things, a white homeless person gets ignored, a black homeless person gets the police called on them. Regardless, this video is literally about racial disparities with absolutely no mention of socioeconomic status so honestly your point is irrelevant. Your refusal to acknowledge white privilege won’t erase it, so I hope in the future you’ll educate yourself and listen when others speak on their actual experiences. Also, weird of you to call me an sjw when you obviously don’t fully understand the term

    5. Stevo1361
      Stevo1361
      2 ամիս առաջ

@Madison Alexa then there’s not much logical consistency in the argument is there? If white people are afforded some level of privilege for being white and that applies to all of them, then exactly what privilege does someone who can barely find enough food to eat have? For the argument to have logical consistency (thereby be a generally true argument) you would not have such large numbers of white people literally lacking any sort of privilege. Also you would not have the numbers of black americans with any kind of privilege such as wealth, fame, a well paying job. At the end of the day people like yourself (SJWs and modern feminists) view the world with glasses that perpetuate the segregation of races and sexes. After great people over the last hundred years sought to do away with pigeonholing people into their race, sex or religious identities, fools seek to bring that very thing back. There’s no black or white underprivileged, just people who need help.

@Wgirl99 Just because there are problems in the real world it does not excuse the hypocrisy. It undermines their agenda. How can you advocate against racism while making racist comments. Just because something maybe true doesn't make it less racist. There is no excuse.

    2. Wgirl99
      Wgirl99
      2 ամիս առաջ

@James Orr that’s because of context and the reality of gentrification and how it hurts communities if color? Not to mention White people have always tried to outdo fully exclude non-whites from their neighborhoods. It’s funny because it’s absurd, and unrealistic. Meanwhile, White people actually do that. “I just write the jokes, I didn’t make the world” 🤷🏿‍♀️.

One thing I was told was "if you reverse the gender and skin color does it change" for example at the beginning if a white women said "I love around a lot of black people, I'm not going to say I love in a black neighborhood because that sounds like a gave up" that is considered racist so the original comment is also racist

    4. Alec Risser

@Abbie Xx Yeah, I don't know what it's like to be black. Black people don't know what it's like to be white. Some claim to when they attempt to dismiss someone's struggles based on privilege. Though you don't, you understand that privilege is not a black and white thing, no pun intended. I'm so glad we can have a conversation like this! It's not uncommon for such discourse to end with ad homonyms.

    5. Alec Risser
      Alec Risser
      2 ամիս առաջ

@Abbie Xx I agree. I sometimes take issue with the way the word "privilege" is used though. I do acknowledge my privilege, but often people use the word to shut down arguments from the other side so they don't actually have to refute the position. I appreciate that you didn't do that. I've also seen the term "privilege" used a lot in a very prejudiced matter. We hear the term White Privilege, and people usually think someone who've never lived on the streets or in the hood, and has never been profiled based on their appearance, but that is financial privilege not White Privilege, and most of the people in this country are poor. Also, people often fail to realize that gender and race based privileges go both ways. Admittedly, there are very few examples of Black Privilege that aren't affirmative action. A male privilege is, we are less likely to be assulted or harassed for sexual reasons. A female privilege is, you are less likely to assulted or harassed for other reasons. For nearly every instance, a privilege for one group usually results in a privilege for the marginalized group as well as a disadvantage for each. Men are encouraged to explore their masculinity, yet are discouraged from exploring their femininity, and the inverse is true for Women. Then you end up with people like me who like tomboys and femboys. I should mention that my observations pertain mostly to Americans, and I recognize that social politics here are quite different from in the UK.
