when the lakers lost to the pistons, I could not believe it. even with karl malone and gary payton they lost. it was the end to an era. I stopped watching the nba in 2010 After they broke up my home team the suns. I dont even know who the current stars are. life moves on. starting a business making sure your kids graduate from college-- things like that are more important. If you dont profit from the nba. theres no point in wasting so much time watching it.

I must point this out. That loss against pistons Kobe blamed himself for not having everyone prepared. Not phill the coach, not all the veterans Payton,Malone, shaq to name the legends BUT himself in not having legends prepared yet he was youngest out the bunch. If that don’t show you how great he is and what makes him the goat idk what else will. My opinion with minds like Payton and Malone no way should the youngest out the bunch had the highest iq.

@Aryeah Zenter Nah I'm not a fan of celebrity culture in general and also think most charities are exploitative and help capitalist shills more than they do their causes, but Kobe doesn't strike me as a bad dude and went to impoverished areas himself often and does community work and awareness, which is nice. I don't know the dude but from what I gather he could be worse

@Michael Johnson Incredibly giving? Or gives the same amount as most celebrities with his networth? Being philanthropy doesn't necessarily make you a good person either. The royal families of England and Saudi Arabia and the Bush family all give money away and they are shit people.

I always said, Don’t let rookies and newly signed free agent veteran players walk into this room to see those trophies. It only makes their balls shrink on how enormous the task will be to win championships for the LAKER NATION. Only a very rare few are up to the challenge and you can spot them easily...LBJ, AD, SHAQ, MAMBA, MAGIC...etc. Have you ever noticed when a potentially great Laker player is just a regular player until they get traded or leave for free agency and THEN they become superstars on the other team...??? Most of them don’t have a room full of NBA CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHIES.

These 2 top 5 all-time are sitting here having a great reminisce and Shaq said his most frustrating years were 96-99 because they never got a chip. Just speaks volumes of the greatness of Jordan and that bulls team of the 90$. They were barely beating that Reggie Miller pacers squad and that kinda shows how tough those 90$ teams were. And in return shaped that 2001 lakers squad. Prior competition always sets the path for the next champ. The 80$ competition shaped MJ to become the plyer he was in the 90$ and the 90$ competition shaped Shaq and Kobe to be the players they were in the 2000'$. Era's matter and 80$,90$, and 00$ basketball was the best in NBA history IMO. Kobe will always be top 5 and it's hard af to put LeBron in front of either these guys let alone Michael Jordan. 2 of the best to ever play the game right here and they were on the same team at 1 point. If Shaquille O'Neal was in the league today the 3 point style of play would be exposed because he would do as he pleases with ANY Center in the league easily..EASILY!
