Our 5600X sample arrived a bit late... but better late than never! Can it beat the Intel i7-10700k?

AMD 5600X vs Intel 10700k - Mid Range CPU Battle!
8 139 Դիտումներ 829հզր
I have a budget of 150 pounds wat motherboard should I get for gaming i have a 5800 x I'm confused by all the different types of motherboard
a 6 core cpu just beat an 8 core this is Intel's FX line lmao
my friend got the 5600x for $550 when he could have gotten a i7 10700kf for $400, bruh
idont live in microsenter
Jeez, if this is mid range, what's my R5 3600?
Stop talking too much man. Get to the point and limit your talking to important stuff only, it’ll get you more subs and longer viewtime
That low TDP on the 5600x is killer, not enough people talk about it and I think that's a shame.
Im trying to upgrade from a 4790k. Right now where I live, the 5600x is going for 350€ where as the 10700k is 290€. By the price alone i can tell the 10700k is the better pick, but im willing to pay the extra if the 5600X is better by more than just a little bit.
How things have changed. 5600X = $350 @ Microcenter .. $330 Best Buy 10700K = $270 @ Microcenter .. $325 Best Buy If you're watching this today, the 10700k is the better buy.
Just checked into MC and it looks like they've dropped the 5600X to $290. 10700K still holding at $270. I'm honestly thinking about building an Intel for me and a Ryzen for the Wifey.
Right now in April of 2021 a 10700K is $320, and a 5600x is $439 in USD. Right with Intel you will need to get a new motherboard, but if you're a sane person who doesn't upgrade the PC hardware every generation like most normal people, the value here is with intel. Intel being price to performance, what?
Hmm. I7 is mid range now. Good. Good. Good days. Weird days. It's okay. No it's not What the hell is going on!! The hell have we come?
so in my country the 10700k is at the same price with the 5600x. what now ?
and what would be the results if the intel was OC?
I would kill for one time ( just one time ) for someone to run these tests with the intel locked to the Ryzen boost frequency (4.6Ghz), rather than just a random 4Ghz speed.
i7-10700K isn't mid range 😂. it is the first truly best all around i7 ever made since Haswell and the fastest 8 core when it was launched a year ago. Basically i9-9900K with a discount, includes integrated graphics, so you don't necessarily need a graphics card. 5600X is a worse product in every singleway minus the efficiency or the platform useful for people upgrading from Zen 1 or something like that, i7 with undervolt (not overclock), can get 7-10% higher singlethread speed or putting on the 5600X level while you get 8 cores.
Perform basically the same, one 26.6% more expensive
Very helpful video. thank you for taking the time
i7 10700 now costs 40 Euros less in my country, than 5600X :D. Prices of 5xxx Ryzen series are very high, not worth it at the moment.
The 5600K performs better and is cheaper, but the i7 has 8 cores which will extend its life considerably.
I think the i7 brings a better value. Micro center is selling it for $250
If I were sitting on an 8700k, I'd be patient for 10nm gen. It's a good chip. Bigger gains to come, get that money's worth if possible. But that's just my needs and budget.
mid range? wtf is high end then? lemme guess jay has a $4200 fred blipper lol
Intel for life...... Intel is the Bestttttt.....
Thinking my processor is high tier in 2021, only to find out it was mid range in 2020.
Dangit, still cant pull the trigger,5600x or 10700k for gaming only pc
i7-10700K can get better singlethread perfomance with a very easy undervolt, at stock it beats the 5600X, the i7 has 8 cores with hyperthreading/SMT and high frequency instead of 6 cores that have lower frequency. i7-10700K also includes integrated graphics ( you can buy the KF version that lacks that). If you want a faster i7, 11700K exists with new microarchitecture and respective IPC increase, PCIe Gen 4, 50% faster iGPU.
Take price to performance with a grain of salt on older videos. Obviously Jay can't predict pricing changes and availability and can only base his prognosis for this moment in time. Still a legend. I got the 10700kf for $249 at microcenter. I was deciding between the that and the 9900k at the same price! Don't fall for the AMD hype when the cost is significantly more after intel drops their pants.
Should I maybe build my 3070 around 5600x?
In my country they are ame price So definitely 10700k better
I paid $240 for my i7-10700KF Three weeks ago. Before prices skyrocketed cause Intel understood their 11th gen CPU's are just rebranded 10gen CPU's with $100 markup! Still, a 10700kf is a better bargain than a 5600x.
I got the 10700k for about 60% of the cost of a 5600 and it was well in stock. I almost went AMD but this was such a bargain. Looks like I'm staying team blue again this time!
how is this mid range cpu? its high end cpu wich can run any game on ultra 1440P 60 fps
Funny this is the comparo i need. Micro C has the 10700k for 250 or i fet the 5600x for 300
Anyone know which of these CPU's would be best for DCS World?
4 months later and this AMD is getting crashed as i5 is half the price. And direct competition for this ryzen 5 is i7 10700k
these are mid range?
Most of the Apps/Games cannot use more than 4 CPUs, max 6. So having 1000 CPUs will do 0.
You should do a video on the prices on these CPUs. The AMD CPUs are way overpriced.
"mid range"
why are you comparing 10700k vs the 5600x? i mean the fair comparisson is vs i5 10600k
I wish pc channels on AMget started using more diverse or newer games. Would love to see nfs heat, cyberpunk, and horizon zero dawn as benchmarks.
Here we are few months later, R5600x costs 460 EUR and I7 10700k is at 380 Im located in Netherlands
@JayzTwoCents I'm looking to build a pc for gaming and for CAD renderings for grad school. I'm between the 10700k and the 5600x and at the time the 10700k costs 320$ and the 5600x is 350$. I'm leaning towards the 10700k because of this but wanted to know if you could offer any help.
Me: still rocking 6700k thats been delidded twice allready to switch the paste and overclocked to 4.5ghz. Still games reasonably well with 1080ti
what should i go for if they are the same price (im gonna use my pc for gaming and 3d modeling, rendering, photshop etc)
@MFD No one does CPU rendering. A GPU is designed for those workloads.
@MFD ok thank youuu
@Anas El Gharras The "K" part means the CPU can be overclocked. "Non-K" means it cannot be overclocked. This is only for Intel CPUs. You should google "pc part picker" so you can tailor the pc to your budget. The 5600 is great but its also expensive now because of high demand. The other processor you might want to consider is the 3700x. Either way, all of them are great and there's no wrong answer.
@MFD i definitely dont wanna overclock, but the k stands for what, does it mean u can overclock ur cpu or whut, cuz as i said i will be more on gaming but i will use it for my architectural studies, (btw pls can u give me a good motherboard for 1500euros build)
@Anas El Gharras Only if you want to overclock it. Cheaper mobos don't have any overclocking features so you might as well get the 10700 non-k with it.
In my region it's fricking cheaper than 5600x
just buy a 10400F
Went with the 10700k cheaper over the 5600x here and overall it's definitely a stronger cpu.
Here in india 5600x and i7 10700kf costs the same. I do have a decent tower cooler. So, I will not be buying a new one. What’s a more futureproof cpu for the same cost if I’m upgrading from ryzen 2600x?
If I can get a 10850K for the same price as a 5600X, should I?
Me new to pc gaming. Hmm yes interesting
10700kf is 100$ cheaper than the 5600. It’s only 400cad in Canada, which would be like 330usd.
Was just looking at these cpu's a few days ago. Went with the i7-10700K. Got it for $250 which was $80 lower than the best 5600X price I could find (plus all my friends have a 5600X..)
Im going with this amd 5600x right now I currently have i59600k
The sides have switched now get a 10700k for productivity and 5600x for gaming and productivity
This whole video sounds like him trying find ways to justify that the AMD is superior when it’s just not.
Zen 3.5 like Zen+? Soooo Zen 3+ then?
Notice how he didn't say the CPU's before the 8700K that may or may not have worked on that board, and Z490 supports 9th, 10th and 11th gen. We only got Zen 3 on 400 series cuz we COMPLAINED!
hhhhh
10700k(309€) vs and 5600x(319€). Which one to buy?
The 10700k is going for 250 new now
this are mid range now
"Midrange"
5600X !
In my country both CPUs are at the same price . Which one should I buy though ?
We all still know that Intel is better
my main PC is still using i7 7700, wondering what kind of a step up it'd be if I went with this Intel CPU. My other PC is a sim racing rig PC and has a Ryzen 5 3600 with RX 6800 and it's an excellent combo and I'm skipping the AMD 5000 series until a new socket comes out.
I clocked my 10700kf to 5.3ghz stable. Beat that amd :P
The thing sells for 250$ now
BUT AT WHAT COST
Right now in England the 5600X is actually £25 more expensive than the 10700k
I used to like intel, not anymore. I like my ryzen until intel starts to innovate and keep pushing the envelope, I'll stick with ryzen. My 2nd PC build in 6 years from now, will be a tread ripper. Good thing I went all out with the x570 xtreme and 3900x ryzen with the 2070super. Waiting for 1 year before updating cpu and gpu, kind of salty with the 5950x and the 3080 cards out of stock. Keep up the good work Jay and others working with Jay.
Well, based on the recent news, it seems am4 won't be used for much longer
So which of these cpu's should I get? I do gaming/editing/productivity. Mostly Gaming
which is better amd or intel? if i am considering buying intel i5 11th gen, parallel variant in amd ryzen would be better or intel? my use is office and video playback and little bit of editing..
sam was enable?
New Playstation and Xbox areusing 8 core processors. Theyll be optimizing games for that. Most games still optimized for 4 core currently. The 5600x probably won't age as well as the 10700k.
i7 10700F 250 euro, 5600x 330 euro ez choice
im upgrading from a 7700k... RIght now I can get a 10700K for 20 dollars less than a 5600x but would need a cooler... It seems like PCIe4 isn't going to be needed anytime soon. Even if I got lucky and found a 3090 at msrp.
In 2021 the 10700k is cheaper than the 5600x by like £40 in the UK. So basically, the 10700k is better and cheaper. Not accounting for the motherboards.
These days, you can find the 10850k for 319.99, the 10700k for 249.99 and 10600k for 189.99 at Microcenter. However, you could get Best buy to match those prices. I was able to get the 10700k for 249.99 from BB. I'd say that is a good deal for the Intel CPU, as the 5600x is usually out of stock and if you can find it in stock, it is overprice.
Linus have the right idea on what is midrange amget.info/have/nm2K26uEuWevmpY/video.html Also check this i7-10700k vs 5800X gaming benchmark, yes Intel lose some but in no other way i7 is a midrange, that's a worthy opponent amget.info/have/hWeLyKGKp3e3daI/video.html
I like it !
Wait 10700k is a mid range??
Costs the same where i live, so: Intel = gaming AMD = If you do heavy work - Honestly right now id most likely go AMD just because they show more initiative and develop GPU's to make even bigger synergy down the line. I love intel cuz you know its a non bullshit install you dont have to tinker in bios for ages to get it right, that said i really hate Intel when it comes to socket changes, always hated it, even before their I5/i7 series.. your mobo dies and guess what, they no longer make that socket available, thanks intel !
well for the same exact price i get the 5600x and the 10700... (NOT the K variant) i want to go the amd way, but i need the integrated graphics... (; (yes i know how bad integrated graphics are, but i cant find any realy gpu, so i am going for a very used rx580 for half a year until i can get a 3060ti... because i dont trust the rx580 to not give up i have to secure the pc will keep working, i am goinna be suing it for simulation for my thesis besides gaming...)
The Intel is now $20 less at Microcenter, which makes it look like the better deal, despite the higher power consumption, heat and lack of cooler. I mean, sure, I can buy less performance for less total money going AMD, but that 27% argument no longer i s valid. I'm shopping for parts now and was expecting to buy AMD, not I'm less sure.
5600x for me, got mine today. Now i'm good for another 5-6 years
good luck being good with 6 cores for 5 years LMAO
I'm in Canada and the Ryzen 5 5600X is now $439 vs i7 10700K at $459 but that doesn't really matter because I can actually buy an i7 10700k which my math tells me makes it 100% faster than the unobtainable 5600x.
i7 10700k mid range i dont think so you cant call an 8 core cpu mid range
nah i5 10400f can keep up with the amd 5600x LOLS amd 5600x cost almost $400 in my place LMAO
Can't help but feel Jay is disappointed Intel beat Ryzen. And me too tbh but Intel is still the better choice it seems. At least at this price range.
Right now in my region, the i7 looks like a much better deal for pretty much everyone. A i7 10700kf (that means no integrated graphics, but amd doesn't have that either) costs 295€ and the 5600x would be 340 at the lowest new price.
First, I've always been an AMD fan and happy to see Intel's monopoly get broken. Got to love the new CPU prices. This said, I'm running two systems, a 5600X and an I5-9600K, both on MSI midrange mobos. The 5600X has almost zero headroom and barely can meet stated specs for max turbo unless running 3600Mhz ram. And not just any 3600Mhz, but good stuff. I have cheap 3600Mhz with terrible timings, and I can't overclock above 4.68GHZ without tweaking RAM timings. I could probly get 4.8Ghz if I overclocked the RAM a little and tightened timings. Or just buy much better RAM. Intel i5-9600K...lots of headroom and not nearly as RAM speed/timing limited. I understand that this is expected based on how each manufacturer builds their CPUs. Intel natively has lower latency on better silicon. AMD's tech makes multicore cheaper, at a cost of latency, but the new single CCX helps a lot with that IPC-killing design feature. Lesson's learned from FX CPUs...latency kills.
Please I know this is not related but any help here my computer freeze and make a buzzing sound sometimes when gaming or idle it doesn’t occur randomly but sometimes any help here specs i7 10700k,Rtx 2070, 1000 watts psi nd Pccooler gi-d66a cpu cooler
Dude your vids are gold but "mid range"
i just bought a prebuilt for the 3080 inside, came with a 5600x on b550, should i sell it or sell my 9700k delid system? runs at 5.3ghz stable and very high benchmarks top 10 on hwbot. do the amd chips oc as well? idk anything about amd
Well, actually i7-10700KF costs $10 less in Canada than Ryzen 5 5600X. And it overclocks really well - way better than 5600X. And it has 8 threads, not 6. And Intel Motherboards don't have USB connectivity issues. Realistically i7-10700KF is better option. Neither Intel nor AMD will keep the current socket since next gen CPUs (except of Intel gen 11) will need a new socket anyways because of DDR5 standard. i7-10700KF + Z590 is a better purchase than Ryzen 5 5600X + X570.
Me wanting to get intel.. Jay opens the video: "things just getting worse for Intel" welp.
They were virtually the same price here where i live, but the power consumption of the 5600x seems to be much better, and also a good motherboard for it is cheaper to come by. I ended up choosing the 5600x.
Seems like Intel is a no brainer. Why would I pay an extra $60 to get the 5600X over a 10700K?
Especially when you look at min fps and 1% lows. 6 core is not a good idea. 8 c/16t is a must.
Wait so wich is better
im looking at thr 5800x but thats a ways off
